Oregon recruit experience

The University of Oregon has the best equipment and facilities in all of sports. Their partnership with Nike allows them to have the best performing & most stylish equipment on the field. The construction of the new Marcus Mariota Performance Center created an opportunity to show off their football equipment in a way that is as innovative as the gear itself. The university wanted an impressive installation for recruits to feel welcome on their campus tours.

Strategy & UX

We put together insights, hardware ideas and ultimately built a personalized, sophisticated & interactive display. I was responsible for the UX and UI of the iPad controller, the Web CMS for personalization, and the overall flow of the experience.

Implementation

Recruiters use an iPad that generates a personalized video for each recruit. This hits the “Make Mom Cry” emotional tenant. From there, the Recruiter can show off the latest and most iconic uniform styles, and highlights innovation and safety (for mom's peace of mind) I created a wireframe prototype for the iPad controller to demonstrate the user flow, interaction design and feature set of the application. The controller works synchronously with the large screen recruit wall display.
